You know, I do watch shows other than Supernatural - way too many of them, actually - and Game of Thrones is one of them. I fell fast and hard for the show - basically within the span of the opening teaser - and it has such a gorgeous cinematography, I really wanted to make some icons. In the end I made more character icons than landscape ones though. I didn't find a source for screencaps yet, so I had to make due with the few images I was able to find on the internet. Anyway, if you're not watching this show, I can highly recommend it. It's a fascinating story about political machinations and intrigue in a medieval-like world with interesting fantasy elements thrown in for good measure. The acting is outstanding, the world building is careful and intricate and the characters have depth right from the start. The show really takes its time to highlight the characters and the world they live in, and I appreciate the slow pacing. So far I didn't really find a single thing to complain about the show. It's the highlight of my Mondays! ♥

Well, I guess that's the point: When everyone else is playing dirty, being honorable only gets you killed. I adore Ned. I always fall for the good guys and I will be crushed if something happens to him. :(

i suppose you're right.... it's the part of the magic of this show that it's so epic and unpredictable. i'm thinking about reading books, but first i need to be done w/ my exams. last episode was amazing as usual if u havent watched it yet, i know you'll love it :)

I thought about reading the books as well, but then I decided not to. I don't want to spoil myself and I also don't want to constantly compare the show and the books. I love the show as it is and I don't want to mess with my perception of it. :)

The episode was epic. ♥ I loved the juxtaposition of Rob granting mercy to the Lannister spy while Jeoffrey refused to show mercy for Ned. I was also impressed by Sansa's plead for Ned. I didn't expect her to stand up for her father.

And finally we learn more about the White Walkers! I am so excited about that. The situation seems impossibly tense - with the Lannisters and the Starks at war, the Dothraki moving forward to fight a war against the Lannisters and the White Walkers threatening the kingdom from beyond the wall. There will be a bloodbath, surely!

I haven't decided yet, but I might read at least first one once season 1 is over. I've heard books are awesome, too and I believe there's nothing that could change my love for the show. I'm surprised how much I enjoy it. It's like one episode is over and I'm shivering and asking "where is another one? I need to see what happens next" :D. It's horrible that we have to wait whole week. I'm not sure I felt like this with any other show before. It's too intense and exciting.

Yup, another amazing epic episode. :) I wonder if there's ever gonna be some disappointing epi, but so far it seems impossible and I enjoy every second of it. Poor Ned, but it seems there's still hope for him. I hate Lannisters, too, but he should re-think whole situation and bow before Jofrey. He can plot and be all righteous once he's free man. Tho, i understand it's a bad situation. Kudos to Sansa for trying to convince Lannisters that her dad was innocent. I also thought she wouldn't be on her dad's side since she's all crazy about Joffrey.
I love Dany and Drogo. They are so great and if they want to kill Lannisters - well, alright :DD I wish dragon eggs would crack already. Having one little dragon in your army would surely help. lol
I was happy to see more from the Wall and Jon Snow. Oh and his white wolf. Whole White Walkers story is too good. When the woman from behind the Wall told Bran that his unce should have gone with his army to the north instead of the South, I thought wow, this is gonna be epic. Also "clumsy boy" saying that he hopes the Wall is tall enough. Haha... From all this talk, it sounds like winter is really bad&scary time of the year. I agree about bloodbath - it can't be any other way. :O

I'll probably read the books once the show is over. I've heard a lot of praise about the books and although I am not an avid fantasy reader, my interest is peaked.

I'm not sure I felt like this with any other show before. It's too intense and exciting.
ROFL well, I felt like this with some shows, there is some amazing TV out there. Supernatural will probably always be my favourite show and god knows that there will never be characters I love more than Sam and Dean, but Game Of Thrones is certainly the first show since SPN that created this level of excitement in me. I am devastated that there will only be 2 more episodes and then we'll likely have to wait almost a year before the show continues. I don't know how to survive that - well, apart from rewatching S1 over and over again. *lol*

That's what I was thinking.... it's horrible that HBO tv shows has only couple of episodes each season :(

Anyway, I didn't mean that I would love GoT more than SPN. I love SPN and also TVD and TB... I only meant the fact that in a minute GoT is over, I'm feeling so shocked and pleased and want to watch another ep right away. As much as I love my other fave shows, I have to say I never had to fight this urge/need to watch more of it :D It never (except of course for some cliffhanger episodes) was like OMG nooooo, I need to see what happens next NOW :D If you know what I mean... It's probably that with GoT you dont know who is safe and who isn't, what's gonna happen next etc.... They're doing great job. As for characters, I heart Sammy and Dean and I also think there's not ever gonna be any other character I'd treasure more than Winchesters.

ROFL After 6 seasons of SPN my desperate need for the next episode of the show isn't quite as urgent as it used to - especially since I need the week in between episodes to write my reviews - but I had the same nervous anxiousness to know what comes next in SPN as I have with GoT. Just GoT is new, it's the exciting feeling of being newly in love, while with SPN it's a settled long-term relationship. *g*

Hmmm.... I don't know... of course, I was looking forward to new ep of SPN, but I have to say quite a lot of them were alone-standing episodes with story that was finished at the end of the ep. If I dont count eps where boys were dying etc, I have to say I'm much more nervous and excited with GoT. I mean, excited in a shocked way XDD And now i dont make any sense at all :D

Well, I don't see it like that at all. There are not many SPN episodes that were true stand-alones. Almost every episode either moved the mytharc along or the development of the characters. What people call stand-alones are usually necessary episodes that deepen the characterisation and move Sam and Dean forward, either individually or as brothers, and while they may have monster-of-the-week plots that are finished at the end of the episode, they tell a continuous story about the characters. Just look at S1, for example - the season a lot of people consider to have almost no arc and a mostly stand-alone structure. Sam and Dean go from estranged to tentative reconnection to working through old resentments to understanding each other's perspectives to establishing a new, improved bond. All that happens in little steps throughout the so-called stand-alones, in a consistent and continuous development - and that's true for every season, so I can never see SPN as a true stand-alone format. :)

Oh I know what ya mean and you're right, but that's not exactly what I meant - when I said stand-alone I meant episodes where wasn't any "to be continued" cliffhanger moment. ;) Of course there were some very very shocking endings, too but with GoT, it's like permanent feeling when I find myself staring at the screen with eyes on teh top of my head, ROFL. At the end of the ep I usually feel like screaming..... GOD!!! Wait til you see the last ep! Anyways, of course I'm not comparing GoT to SPN. SPN is dearest to my heart/

Ah, you mean that GoT is told like a novel rather than in an episodic structure. ;)

The last episode ripped my heart out. I cried like a baby when Ned died. It's amazing how GoT managed to make me love his character in the span of only 9 episodes. And the most devastating thing is that he sacrificed his honor to live for his family - and it was all futile. Now he is not only dead but his memory is soiled as well. I think that his death will have far-reaching consequences for the Starks as well as the Lannisters. I am sure that in the end his decision to execute Ned will be Jeoffrey's downfall. He should have listened to his mother.

Only one episode to go. I am anxious to see how it all ends.

yup, that's what i meant :)

Oh I know :( The last man of honor died. It's so sad. I wish one of Lannisters would die,too -at least one. It's not fair. Joeffrey needs to pay for this. That's exactly what I hated, too - Ned confessed like he was a traitor and he wasnt! He had every right to be against Joeffrey because it was Queen's bussiness with Jamie and Joffrey has no right to be the King. Awww. Anyways I didn't expect it. Until last second I was hoping someone would stop them. :( here nice tribute to Ned http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1iYEZcdLoM&hd=1 (be sure to have your sound turned up)

Yes. It's horrible that we only have one episode left. Too bad. I'm sure it will not end up nicely.

Jeoffrey will get what's coming to him, I have no doubt. I rarely hate characters, but I want Jeoffrey to die a slow and painful death. LOL
