New Salt'n Burn layout and art

Okay, I changed my layout over at Salt'n Burn again. I just grow tired of them so quickly. I never expected that when I opened the site. *lol* I am not sure if I am all that happy with it, since it looked kind of different in my head, but well, at some point I was just tired of tweaking it.

I have some new arts too, well maybe not all that new, since one’s just the wallpaper version of my LJ layout, but anyway … here we go!

Oh, and Wednesday or Thursday nikkimisplaced is moving BF and all her hosting sites to a new server and Salt'n Burn won't be available for at least 24 hours during the move. So, just in case someone is checking in during that time, don't freak, I'll be back! *g* ;)



Renegade: There is no particular deeper meaning to this one, just Dean looking hot doing the things he does, while he tries to escape the FBI. *lol* I simply experimented with masking brushes and filters and this was the outcome. Usually my experiments always end up in the recycle bin, but this time I liked it well enough to keep it.

Watch You Go: Well, what can I say, Dean and the deal and the strain it puts on the boys is just my favourite obsession at the moment. Sam’s silent desperation in A Very Supernatural Christmas at the prospect of loosing Dean soon just got me. Those profile shots of the boys in the scene where they talk about Dean not being around next Christmas were just too beautiful to not use them in any way.

ROFL actually I was inspired for that layout because of that Dean banner I made for you. :D These guys just have sexy legs *g* plus, after having a lot of face-heavy layouts, it was nice to do something different.

Sorry about teasing you with new art and not delivering! My husband was in town all week so zero internet time for me. ;)

Unfortunately, I've done went second guessing myself on one piece though. To color or not to color, as well as a quote dilemma. Maybe some time this week I'll have them posted. :D

/sigh Tell me about it! I am second guessing all my art at the moment. I can't make anything that I am fully happy with and want to throw out half of my older art. LOL I guess I need to make some kind of development, I just don't know exactly where to go.

Second guessing art sucks! But this was a WIP from dec 06 that I was going to crop into afa awards and then got a creative burst and am going to enter it into jj's finite resources challenge. So, it's been a struggle to reach a finishing point all the way.

I can't believe you want to throw out your older art! I'll browse through your older galleries and be so enchanted by some of the early stuff that I forgot you did. ;)

Oh, it's totally a compliment! You just think you're plain, but when you're doing art your brain proves you otherwise! Must be a subconscious thing ... *g*

Meh, I don't even enter any challenges anymore. And with my new job starting this thursday, I will have substantially less time to do art at all. Not to mention the episode reviews that just take me a hell of a time.

I am not taking my older art down, but you know how it is, these days where you go through your art and just hate everything and ask yourself what you did those last 2 years. LOL

I sadly don't get to enter challenges like I used to either. Usually only when its a very dear friend do I find any motivation to squeak out a piece. ;p

I want to revamp quicksand so that I don't have to see all my old art but still have it. Maybe something like that would appeal to you.

and omfg do i completely understand the time required to do any sentient typing and reviews!

Ohh, I thought you read my long rant in the VIP about the job the other day, since you were answering to one of my posts LOL. Yeah, I was for an interview last Thursday but we agreed for me to start the job right away this week. I'm going to be team leader for an interesting state-funded project where I get to work with schools and universities, which I am looking forward to. It's only for 4 months though, unless the funding will be prolonged. We'll see! :)

I am thinking about revamping SNB as well, but then I am not sure if it is worth it, given that I don't really make THAT much art and my portfolio is still very manageable. *shrugs*

Yeah, those reviews seriously eat up my time, but I don't really want to give up on them, because I love writing and am usually proud if I managed to get out a coherent analysis, in english even. LOL So, I guess I'll see how it all works out.

This is kind of funny...this morning I decided I needed to change my desktop in work (as I had a Mad Men one that had begun to bore me) and went looking on Google. I went through about four for five pages, annoyed with the lackluster results.

Then I saw "Renegade" -- while giggling at Dean's "blue steel" pose -- and downloaded it.

Happily it's from a fellow LJ user and I can comment on how much I love it. :-) Thanks for sharing.
