galatheaAll those new and awesome apocalyptic promos for S3 that the CW airs at the moment inspired me to make a new layout for Salt'n Burn. It's all dark and doom-y, but I really love it, so I made it into a S3 promotional wallpaper. I don't know about y'all but I am more than ready for season three to start! ♥

Date: 2007-09-24 02:44 am (UTC)I really love this purple and gold combo. Very ominous. I like how Dean is in the light and Sam is in the dark. Purposeful? Are we finally seeing things my way, with Dean not so deep in despair and Sam losing himself to the evil? XD Well that's how I interpret the piece. *hugs* I love how Dean is lit on the side away from Sam. Yet the side closest to Sam is slipping into shadows because Sam is Dean's weakness that will pull Dean into the darkness that Dean would never have gone by himself.
What most impresses me about this piece is how you managed to just use head shots but naturally worked in a full shot of a tree. It feels epic which goes with the whole S3 theme anyway. And I love that you made it a promo rather than just a normal piece. *wubs promo art* Excellent job with the text, love the creepy 3.
I have to say that I like the layout art more with how you did Sam closer to the lighted clouds. It makes it feel as if Sam is part of the storm and just all together more a part of the piece. But I think you know how I like to have images all crowded together as just a personal peference.

Date: 2007-09-24 10:46 am (UTC)Oh, it sure is purposeful! :) Dean is in the light because he lost the burdens that weighed him down in S2, I think his smile as the end of the finale demonstrates beautifully how relieved and happy Dean is. Sam is within the storm, because he on the other hand got a lot of burdens handed over for S3, saving Dean's life, his own death and its consequences. It's not meant as Sam losing himself to evil, but rather as Sam being an active part of the events this season (he IS the army's general, if he wants it or not and I fully expect that to be a storyline for S3), while Dean is more on the outside, as he is bound to the deal.

Heh, sometimes we do think alike LOL. Yeah, I realised too late that through re-sizing the part of the stormy sky stock that partly covered Sam's face fell differently. I didn't have the time yesterday to fix that right away, but I changed that part today, so it's back in place. It is important to me since I did indeed want to show Sam as part of the storm and not outside, like Dean. Good catch! *hugs*
