I have to apologise for the delay with the art requests, but review writing took up a considerable part of my time these last couple of weeks. Add to that computer troubles and RL projects and you get the picture. I hope I manage to finish all requests before this hiatus is over though. *crosses fingers*

So, today I drop off the gifts for [livejournal.com profile] marilyne_22 and [livejournal.com profile] joans23. :)

Hunters: Dear [livejournal.com profile] marilyne_22, I am not sure if you expected something romantic for your Dean/Jo banner request, but my inspiration lead me more towards a comrades in arms theme. So I present you Dean and Jo united in their fight against the apocalypse. I hope you like it. :)

Zombie: Dear [livejournal.com profile] joans23, you requested tortured, damaged Dean, preferably from Bloodlust. So, I settled on the infamous shot of a blood-splattered Dean after he beheaded a vampire with a chain saw. His vacant expression in that shot always gave me the chills and inspired me to run with a zombie theme: Dean feels dead inside, he knows he should have died in his father’s place and cannot reconcile himself with his own survival. The brick wall symbolises his (fragile) defences and through the hole we can look inside him, only to see nothing but a desert and a dead tree, showing how empty and brittle he feels. At this stage Dean expresses his grief through violence, hence all the blood stocks/brushes. I hope you don’t mind that the wallpaper is pretty minimalist, but I didn’t want anything to distract from Dean’s expression, which was the main basis for the lyrics/theme choice.

Wow! Those are both amazing. I'm especially liking the banner for Marilyne, and like the style you chose for it. It's refreshing to see them more as comrades in arms. I really like how much they allowed Jo to grow throughout the series. Wish we could have seen more of it.

Thanks, hon! :) Yeah, I dont really see Dean&Jo as romantic, but I liked what we saw of them in 5.10. I really wished we would have seen her and Ellen more frequently in between S2 and S5. /sigh

*looks at the Dean piece, speechless* Oh. Wow.

Aww thanks! It's a really simple piece, mostly it's just Jensen's expressive face that does all the work for me.

Btw, I forgot to comment on your last post. That Sam&Lucifer piece you did for Tam was absolutely breathtaking. It's one of my fav pieces of yours ever! ♥

Heh, I don't think the fact it's not loaded with decorations makes it simple, I think it's just very well balanced in terms of concept vs. execution, exactly has the elemtents in it that are necessary ♥ I adore the way you expressed your message using stocks as metaphors. That white and dead hole in his chest makes my own heart ache when I look at it. Brilliant work, seriously.

That Sam&Lucifer piece you did for Tam was absolutely breathtaking. It's one of my fav pieces of yours ever!

Oh, thank you, hon. I'm not entirely happy with that piece, to be honest - but I'm glad you think it's good enough :)

Awww thank you so much! Glad the message comes across. Sometimes when you look at the wallpaper from just the right angle, all you can see is that 'Dean' is simply a front with that vast space behind it and that just gives me chills. It's why I chose to remove almost every other image I had in there before.

You're not entirely happy with your Sam&Lucifer piece?! Geesh, we need to adjust your perspective on what's 'good' a bit. LOL The Lucifer manip alone is stunning, but the whole concept and composition and colouring just makes me so, so jealous. I wished I had your talent! ♥

Wow those are incredible. Dean looks so 3 dimensional too in the wallie. Was that a screen cap you used? It's so perfect! I love the crumbling brick showing his emptiness and fragility. The minimalistic style really does work perfect for the wallie. Nice work on both as usual my dear. :)

Thank you! *hugs* Yeah, I worked with a screencap for the Dean wall, luckily we have many capable cappers in fandom. :) Heh, I really had a lot of other caps/stocks in there at first, but gradually removed them until only this basic layout remained. Sometimes less is just more. :)

They both look very good! I love the apocalyptic feel of the first one, and the crumbling wall of the second one was a good idea.

Oh Chris it's beautiful! Thank you so much! *hugs*

I really love the theme and overall concept! I like it when Jo goes into demon hunter mode with dean, they make such a great team :)

And how did you guess orange and yellow were my favorite colors? lol

This is just so perfect! Thank you ^^ <3

Aww, I am happy I met your expectations! :) And yes, I really love seeing Jo all grown up and in Hunter mode, hence the theme.

Heh, I love yellow/orange/red combinations in wallpapers too! I am glad you like the colour scheme. *hugs*

Chris, don't you DARE apologize for anything! The fact that it is so minimalist IS MY FAVOURITE PART! It's so my style, there's no way I could have asked for better! OMG, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! It's dark and beautiful and all the thought and feeling you put into this just takes my breath away. YOU ARE AMAZING AND WONDERFUL AND OMG, THANK YOUUUUUU!!!!!!!

Phew, I am so very happy that you love it. I really had a lot of stuff going on in that wallpaper at first, but then I started to remove images, because I found them too distracting. Dean's face really tells most of the story and I just gave a little symbolic meat to it. :) I am glad the style agrees with you! *hugs*

So nice! I esp. like the warm coloring in the hunter header--it looks like their squaring up for the last stand at sunset. :)

Wow, lovely work as ever, I especially like the Zombie piece! Though it's kind of sad how much that piece could exactly fit his current state, three years later....:(

Thanks! :) Yes, it all started with John's death for Dean. It became a recurring theme, really, he builds himself up again, only to get beaten down over and over and he needs longer and longer to get up again. It's a miracle he didn't blow his brains out yet. :(
