Icons | Game Of Thrones

You know, I do watch shows other than Supernatural - way too many of them, actually - and Game of Thrones is one of them. I fell fast and hard for the show - basically within the span of the opening teaser - and it has such a gorgeous cinematography, I really wanted to make some icons. In the end I made more character icons than landscape ones though. I didn't find a source for screencaps yet, so I had to make due with the few images I was able to find on the internet. Anyway, if you're not watching this show, I can highly recommend it. It's a fascinating story about political machinations and intrigue in a medieval-like world with interesting fantasy elements thrown in for good measure. The acting is outstanding, the world building is careful and intricate and the characters have depth right from the start. The show really takes its time to highlight the characters and the world they live in, and I appreciate the slow pacing. So far I didn't really find a single thing to complain about the show. It's the highlight of my Mondays! ♥

Game of Thrones has been good, but there's too much exposition IMO. Hopefully in the next few episodes once all the different elements of the series have been introduced they can focus on the characters more. Otherwise I do like it though. It's certainly a beautiful series.

(...btw Legend of the Seeker is still the best fantasy series that you should be watching.... :p :D)

Well, I disagree. The show needs a lot of exposition, it's part of the world building. The many different characters and factions and kingdoms would be terribly confusing if the writers would just rush into the action. The slow pacing and the time the show takes to properly introduce us to this world is one of my favourite aspects of the show. And I think the show takes a lot of time for the characters as well - just last episode the relationship between Arya and Ned was highlighted for example and the scene between the King and the Lannisters was all character exposition in a way that you don't see often on TV nowadays.

I've watched Legend of the Seeker, well, the first season anyway. The fact that I never really found the motivation to watch S2 says it all, really. I enjoyed the show to an extent, but overall it was too cheesy and too 'showy' for my tastes. I never really got invested in the characters, plus I am sick and tired of the overused 'doomed couple' trope.
