Oh, man, I hate you. You always find a way to word things so beautifully, I think I'm going to steal yours and say, "Lookie how smart I be!" :p
I adored this episode! I'll agree that the plot was pretty craptastic but I believe this episode was mostly for brotherly interaction and to get their plotline moving ahead. But I do have to say that seeing the ghost mother behind her? Was terrifying! I was finally able to watch this on TV last night because I wasn't working and I had all the lights off and I just freaked out, lol. I'm a sucker for cheesy antics such as these.
Dean slipping back into following John was amazing. Jensen and Jared are fabulous actors to boot and Dean showed such vulnerability with that, his desperation for there to be an easy way out because all these months of pretending nothing's wrong with where he's going is beginning to wear thin because he's beginning to truly understand that Hell awaits and that he is the last person in the entire world who deserves that. That was some great interaction with that, and I do like how they tied Dean back to the grieving father, to show two emotionally devastated people, unsure about where they're going with life, or whatnot.
*sigh* Sam was rockstar amazing. He is being so supportive of Dean and I love seeing him take a more, mature approach, I guess is a good way to describe that, towards Dean and how he's acting about the situation and how he handles Dean's offhand remarks about said situation. I can feel my fingers itching at the fanart prospect in this episode, all devoted to our boys and Dean's emotional ride(s).
And yes, when I saw the rental car, I thought I was seeing clowns in spider form crawling all over me. Two very freaky things. Sam and Dean belong in the Impala. Period. :P
