I enjoyed the review. I do also worry that it is Bobby and Dean who are keeping Sam strong. We've seen Dean desparately praying and Bobby seeingly hpeless. That doesn't make for much strength to keep Sam afloat.
I agree that this was a personal episode with a good tie to the myth arc, oh and the humor was noticeably organic, no frat boy stupid humor and dumb expressions! Yay for that. Smart humor is what made Supernatural. The over the top stuff seems weak to me.
