The comic has gone more and more into a fandom of the show, so it's not canon anymore, really.
There are now multiple canons for SPN:
Nevermore
(which sucks, apparently. I've read a teaser, and personally, not pleased yet)
Origins
which I do agree--- *shudders*
And finally, the true canon:
SPN.
I love SPN. It's probably the only canon I'll stick with.
Right. Back to studying.
