The ending was heart-breaking, but it was also the beginning of their healing process. This was a separation for all the right reasons, not because they hate each other or are disappointed orhad a fight, but because they both need different things at the moment and for the first time they are able to let each other go in peace and with love. They won't be apart for long. Sometimes you need to let someone go, in order to rediscover how much you want to be with that person. :) Sam and Dean are on their way there.
