I, too, was so very happy that we finally got an episode that solely focused on Sam. I think they chose Dean's perspective so far, to cloud Sam's time in a mystery and make us see the changes in Sam's character through Dean's eyes and I think that worked well, but it was really time that we got insight into Sam now. Heh, I am such a total sucker for domestic, brotherly scenes, it's not funny. I treasure these moments between the boys dearly, sometimes they seem the only moments where Sam and Dean can catch their breath and just be happy and relaxed in each others company.
I love the JJ's friendship more than I can say and I have to admit that I adore them just as much as I adore Sam&Dean. I am eternally grateful that we got these two on the show and I think that their off-screen friendship translates into Sam and Dean's closeness. ♥
