ROFL ah, the power of twin brains. I used to have that kind of shared show brain with llywela13 - well, before she quit this fandom, but still. It is kinda freaky sometimes. ;)
it's all in the details and maneuvering the characters in such a way that their actions seem logical, consistent, earned, and emotionally relevant to the story at hand while address past events/revelations. I couldn't agree more. However, those damned first 10 episodes of S8 really gave me the impression the writers don't really care about any of that. And, let's be honest, even though the 2nd half of the season was a lot better, it still struggled with consistency issues and lack of nuances in the characterisation as well as massive canon failures. I guess I just don't believe that the same people that wrote S8 are able to live up to those kind of writing standards. Man, I miss Sera Gamble so much. /sigh
And I don't even know what Singer has been doing this whole time. Yeah, I have always had such a high opinion of Singer. I always considered him the one who gives Supernatural and its characters their depth. I am at a loss as to why he doesn't course correct Carver more. Of course, I have no idea how much actual power of decision Singer has under Carver. I have heard/read stories that Carver pretty much overrode the some of the concerns the writers/producers voiced in regard to characterisation last season. But well, who knows what is really going on in the writers' room.
If TP shows up again (likely after the midseason break) I'll be ecstatic. Heh, well, Ezekiel will have to leave Sam at some point, and hopefully he will just occupy his old vessel.
