if he had been able to actually make eye contact with Dean, like Dean did with Sam here, things might have gone differently. Ruby knew what she was doing when she locked Dean out. :(

I know that the fights with Castiel and Sam are very different - very, very - but there are similarities, and I find both rather disturbing. This one with Castiel makes me a lot angrier than the one with Sam, though! Way to make Dean's breakdown all about himself!
