Thanks, Karen! :) Yeah, it makes absolutely no sense at this stage in the season, and I have no idea what the writers were thinking here, other than 'oh, wouldn't it be funny if...' I find it especially befuddling because the moment they focus on the drama, the episode really picks up and becomes meaningful, both in terms of characterisation as well as mytharc. I simply don't get that kind of slope within one single episode. :(
